the women who sold their daughters into sex slavery

I saw this article while in a local cafe. Even though I sat in a public place I could not stop the tears. Mga luha. Panginoon maawa Ka.
The girl, Kieu, was taken to a hospital and examined by a doctor, who issued her a "certificate of virginity." She was then delivered to a hotel, where a man raped her for two days.
Read the story of her slavery and the story of the distraught mother who sold her...

Testifying before Congress on trafficking

Testifying before a Congressional committee on Wed. April 22nd, Father Shay Cullen of the Preda Foundation explained how US nationals are investors in the very internet server providers which are uncompliant with Philippines anti-child pornography laws. He also described how journalists and human rights workers felt threatened by the death squads protecting human traffickers.

Fr. Shay, 72, is a Missionary priest from Ireland, a member of the Missionary Society of St. Columban and Founder and President of Preda Foundation since 1975. He has worked protecting women and children from sex slavery and promoting human rights, peace and non-violence in the Philippines since 1969. He was asked to testify before the House Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations to provide input for the US State Department’s Annual Trafficking in Persons Report.

The full text of his testimony is yet to be posted on Preda.org. Until then, see the summary article...

15 Children Rescued from Sex Slavery

INDIA, March 29, 2015:

15 minors, 14 girls and a teenage boy, were rescued out of sex slavery

from a locked brothel recently. New operatives with The Exodus Road (BRAVO team), comprised of five national investigators and one social worker, gathered evidence and took the evidence to the local police. This successful rescue took place after three previous failed attempts which were tipped off by corrupt officials.

The victims are currently in a temporary shelter as police are looking for the best after care placement available. While these 15 have been rescued from sex slavery, each one will now begin a long and important road to healing and restoration.

She couldn't go to police because they were some of her abusers

The police officer who handcuffed me and raped me, told me I would be put in jail if I opened my voice.
She survived years of abuse and exploitation at the hands of sex traffickers and now she’s telling her story. Jessa Dillow-Crisp told an audience at the Colorado State Capitol, during Human Trafficking Awareness and Advocacy Day, that her victimization began when she was a child.

Yazidi girls speak of ‘systematic rape’ under ISIS

http://english.alarabiya.net/en/News/middle-east/2015/04/15/Yazidi-girls-speak-of-systematic-rape-under-ISIS.html
Human Rights Watch released a report April 15 documenting how Yazidi women were exposed to “a system of organized rape and sexual assault, sexual slavery, and forced marriage by ISIS forces."

From 9:30 in the morning, men would come to buy girls to rape them. I saw in front of my eyes ISIS soldiers pulling hair, beating girls, and slamming the heads of anyone who resisted. They were like animals…. Once they took the girls out, they would rape them and bring them back to exchange for new girls. The girls’ ages ranged from 8 to 30 years… only 20 girls remained in the end.

Ex-teacher arrested in Japan says he paid for sex with over 12,000 women

Takashima, who comes from the city of Yokohama, told police that he began paying for sex with women in 1988 when he went to work at a Japanese school in Manila.

Takashima told police that he continued to pay for sex because it was so cheap. After the end of his three-year stint at the school in Manila, he frequently returned to the Philippines on vacations in order to buy sex.

Catching a monster - 60 minutes

This is a program about the sexual abuse of children and the hunt for and arrest of Peter Scully - an Australian that sexually abused children in the Philippines. The abuse was filmed/photographed and sold across the world. The abuse was so severe that one or more children died because of the sexual abuse/torture.

He’s considered Australia’s worst paedophile, and for four years Peter Scully was on the run. He thought by hiding out in a remote corner of the Philippines he was beyond the reach of the law. But Scully was wrong. In this exclusive report, 60 Minutes has been given unprecedented access to the international investigation for this terrifying criminal. Joining the Australian Federal Police and special agents in the Philippines on their global manhunt, our cameras were there when Scully was finally caught. Now, behind bars, and facing multiple charges, Tara Brown comes face to face with our country’s most depraved predator. What he has to say for himself will leave you stunned.
